Kids Gear for Baseball

Welcome to Kids Gear for Baseball.

Kids Gear for Baseball is a grassroots effort to help ensure that less fortunate children in Greater Boston and surrounding communities have the equipment they need to enjoy the great game of baseball!

History

Kids Gear for Baseball was founded in 2002 by the Ritchie family of Lynnfield, MA and its management has been past down through three Southborough, MA families, the Ritchies, the McCarthys, and the Secrists.  Currently, Jeffrey, Liam, and Conor Secrist,  former or current students at Saint John's High School in Shrewsbury, volunteer their time collecting new & gently used baseball and softball equipment during an annual collection weekend at Fenway Park and throughout the year from individuals/leagues interested in donating quality gear. The donated equipment is then cleaned, sorted, inventoried and distributed to youth organizations in need.

Donations over the years have been made to:

Boys & Girls Clubs of MA; Mission Hill Little League; Boston Public Schools; Revitalizing Baseball Inner-City League (RBI); Roslindale; KIPP Academy, Lynn;  Nativity Schools of Worcester & Jamaica Plain; Dominican Republic; Nigeria - Baseball Tomorrow Academy; and more.
